The Wave male athlete of the week is basketball rookie Deontay Smith. Despite the Panthers losing two games this weekend, Smith continues to impress. On Friday night he was the high scorer of the game with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Saturday at StFX he added another 27 points and 7 rebounds. Smith is currently 6th in the AUS for scoring and 7th for rebounding. Smith is a first year arts student from North Preston, Nova Scotia. The Panthers host UNB and CBU this weekend with both games at 8pm.
